Outdoor Home Revamps that Sell Homes

12/19/2020 By Gulf Coastal Properties

In places like the Forgotten Coast where one of the main draws is spending time outside, outdoor spaces are highly important to home buyers. Since the beginning of the pandemic when people were limited to their homes, spaces that people can enjoy the outdoors on their own terms have become increasingly important.

Taking some time to spruce up and showcase your home’s outdoor spaces is a great idea because, it can help to sell your home.

It is recommended when getting your outdoor spaces ready for the sale of your home to focus on some key areas that most buyers focus on: the deck, a dining area, places to lounge, and the pool if there is one. Here are some ways to make your outdoor spaces look spectacular and get your home sold faster.

Clean, Clean, CleanOutdoor Home Revamps that Sell Homes

No one wants to hang out in a space that is not neat and tidy, at least they don’t walk through a home envisioning themselves hanging out in a mess they didn’t make. It is just as important to have an immaculately clean outdoor living space as it is for the indoor ones.

Seating

One area of seating is nice and helps to give a hint of what an outdoor space can be, but plenty of seating in different areas set up for different uses really helps a buyer to see the full potential of a space. Think of how you would communicate the space could be used and then make your words tangible by setting it up. Create a seating area where friends can hang out, define a dining area to enjoy outdoor meals, consider adding a fire pit with more chairs in a different area to showcase a yard full of potential use and fun.

Bring Wow Factor to the Garden

The most welcoming of outdoor living areas falls flat without a bit of nice landscaping and a few pretty flowers. Just be sure not to make the yard overly fussy as that can lead buyers to think the yard will be too much work. Just a nicely mowed lawn, some mulch, and a few colorful blooms will do.

If You Have a Pool

Private pools are very much in demand since the beginning of the pandemic. If you have one, stage it like an outdoor oasis of activity right outside the door. Bring in some comfy lounge chairs to the pool deck, put some balls or a float in the water, and bring out a basket of nicely rolled fluffy pool towels to get them daydreaming about a perfect day in the back yard.

Lighting is Important Outside Too

Great lighting can help inside and outside the home as well, especially when the home is shown in the evening. It tells the buyer that the space is ready to be used all the time. String lights are a popular, trendy, and fairly inexpensive way to do so.
