The Lanark Village boat club has been around for many years and is a way to get to know other boat-loving and water-loving residence of the Forgotten Coast. Lanark Village boat club is primarily owned and nonprofit. It is membership supported and located right on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico just 4 miles east of the town of Carrabelle on the Forgotten Coast which is just 50 miles south of the very large city of Tallahassee Florida.
The Lanark Village boat club is somewhat of a hidden gem and is set in a quiet retirement-style residential village surrounding which has stayed true to the club’s original functions with very little changes over the years. The surrounding area of Lanark Village is a residential area that is popular with snowbirds and full-time residents. Residents of the Village and visitors of the boat club enjoy great fishing, open waters for fun boating, making new friends, and just relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. This little-known part of the Forgotten Coast near the town of Carrabelle has been a great spot for neighbors to get to know each other and share similar interests for several years.
The Boat Club
The boat club hosts many social events during the year in its clubhouse as well. These social events are open to all members and the public. Events are organized by board members and staffed by volunteer members. It is a great way for those who live in Lanark Village or in nearby Carrabelle to get to know one another.
Currently, the boat club will be resuming their beloved pancake breakfast beginning with breakfast on June 19. This is the first breakfast the boat club will have held in over a year since the pandemic and safety and health measures took place. The pancake breakfast is a long-standing boat club tradition and it is held every third Saturday of the month from 9 to 11 AM. Come and enjoy a breakfast with neighbors or friends or get to know somebody new. If you live in Lanark Village and are a member of the boat club you can get more involved and meet your immediate neighbors by volunteering at the pancake breakfast.
There are many great things to love about living in Carrabelle and nearby Lanark Village. Though there are some amenities of the Lanark boat club that are only available to residents of Lanark Village, there are many great fun events and opportunities to get to know local residents for anyone who is interested.
