A lot of us might be stuck at home these days but it doesn’t necessarily mean we have to be stuck inside. With beautiful weather days, it can be a tragedy not to enjoy the Florida features of the Gulf Coast but if you are staying at home there are three home features that really help cope with the coronavirus.
Whether you already have these features or thinking of using your stimulus check for one of these, now might be a great time to tap into those funds and invest in one of these three features to make life easier in the coming months.
#1. Deck, porch, patio, or an awning for all three.
If you “go into work” every day, staying at home working might seem a little mundane but, if you step outside during your workday, the fresh air can be a welcome retreat. By creating an outdoor workspace and then putting an awning over it, can help block the sunlight allowing for laptop use outside. A lot of these jobs can be done without anyone ever entering your home and your providing jobs at a crucial time.

#2. Backyard playground.
Parents aren’t the only ones suffering. Kids that have been stuck at home for weeks are definitely going stir crazy. This behavior takes a toll on the entire family. Consider putting in a backyard playset. This can be a great substitute for the playground or park that you normally visit and it’s perfect for kids ages 10 and under. Depending on your local building code, there may be permits, but if not, the skies the limit. Order online and take a weekend to set it up. Your kids will be glad and it’ll give them something to do while you take a reprieve inside or… On that porch or patio we mentioned earlier.
#3. Swimming pool.
It’s too soon to tell whether the stay at home mandate will be listed by summer so considering adding in a backyard swimming pool might be a great option. Whether it’s an above ground, belowground, or full-on backyard resort-style retreats, this will be a wonderful and fun place for the entire family to cool off, entertain, or just soak up the sunshine while the kids play. Burn some of that energy in the pool and playground and surprisingly, it might make the entire family a little more at ease.
One thing to mention, there are a lot of Americans struggling financially right now, some losing their jobs, while others are deemed essential. If you’re planning on one of these three home upgrades you want to make sure that you have the funds to do so. Paying your mortgage, rent, and bills are the top priority but if you have a little extra money to play with, one of these three options will not only give you something to do and enjoy, but could increase the resale value of your home later on.
